"Bate-Papo: An Introduction to Portuguese" by our alumnus Dr. Eduardo Viana da Silva

We are very proud to announce that our alumnus Dr. Eduardo Viana da Silva (’14) has recently published Bate-Papo: An Introduction to Portuguese. The e-book presents up-to-date materials to Portuguese language instruction and highlights meaningful communicative activities, focusing on everyday language in Brazilian Portuguese. Bate-Papo is an Open Education Resource (OER) and enables Portuguese teaching without the cost of traditional textbooks.

We are also pleased to announce that starting this Fall 2020, our Portuguese language program at UC Santa Barbara is using Bate-Papo. Dr. Viana da Silva also had the collaboration of yet two alumni from our doctoral Portuguese program such as Dr. Carlos Pio (’14), University of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Ellen Oliveira (’11), University of Southern California.
