In commemoration of the 100th Birthday of the Portuguese and Brazilian writer Jorge de Sena, the Center for Portuguese Studies will hold a colloquium on the 15th November, 2019 with international keynote speakers. Jorge de Sena as a professor in our Department of Spanish and Portuguese, University of California, Santa Barbara, was instrumental to the diffusion of Portuguese and Brazilian literatures in the United States. This colloquium commemorates his trajectory from Portugal to Brazil and finally to the United States.
